Darrel Hammon grew up in Menan, Idaho, a small farming community along the banks of the Snake River. After serving a church mission for two years in southern Chile, he attended Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho), graduated from Boise State University with a B.A. and an M.A., and received his Ph.D. from the University of Idaho.
Darrel and his wife Joanne have two married daughters: Anna Rose and Hailey and four beautiful and very bright grandchildren. Darrel enjoys digital photography and writing, helping people grow and progress as individuals, and gardening. He has been an educator and leader for 30 years. His focus has been on community colleges, leadership, program development, and strategic planning.
They just recently returned from serving as a mission president in the California Riverside Mission where they provided spiritual guidance for 500+ of some of finest young men and young women on the planet earth! He and his wife also served an 18-month mission as Welfare Specialists in the Caribbean Area for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
